Corps de Ballet
Born in Portland, Oregon, Aaron Anker began his formal ballet training at age 10 in Fredericksburg, Virginia. He studied with Suzanne Farrell, Violette Verdy, Patricia McBride, and Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux during summer programs at The Rock School, Carolina Ballet, the Chautauqua Institute, Exploring Ballet with Suzanne Farrell, and Boston Ballet.
In the Fall of 2012, Mr. Anker began pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Ballet and Bachelor of Science in Biology at Indiana University. During his time with Indiana University Ballet Theater, Mr. Anker was featured in roles in George Balanchine’s Rubies, Emeralds, Donizetti Variations, and The Four Temperaments, Merce Cunningham’s Duets, Antony Tudor’s Dark Elegies, Violette Verdy’s Variations for Eight, Nicolo Fonte’s Left Unsaid, Michael Vernon’sproduction of The Nutcracker, and the role of Amore, a character created by the director Tom Diamond in the Indiana University Opera Theater production of Xerxes.
Mr. Anker joined Pennsylvania Ballet as an Apprentice for the 2015-2016 Season and was promoted to Corps de Ballet for the 2016/2017 Season.
