Meet Peter

Hometown: Jenkintown, PA
Peter Weil began his training at the Metropolitan Ballet Academy as part of its nationally acclaimed Boys’ Scholarship Program, under the direction of Lisa Collins Vidnovic. A Youth America Grand Prix medalist and New York semifinalist from 2009 to 2015, Peter’s honors and awards have included full scholarships to summer intensive programs at the American Ballet Theatre Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School, Orlando Ballet, and Boston Ballet. As well, he was selected for a traineeship at Boston Ballet in 2013 and continued his studies under Peter Stark as a new artist at Next Generation Ballet. Peter was also a participant for the prestigious Prix de Lausanne in Switzerland in 2015.

Peter was invited to join Pennsylvania Ballet as a member of PBII in 2015. He was promoted to apprentice that fall and then to the corps de ballet for our 2016/2017 season. He has performed the principal role of Basilio in Angel Corella’s Don Quixote, as well as featured roles in Christopher Wheeldon’s For Four and George Balanchine’s The Four Temperaments (Melancholic). Peter also danced in the world premieres of Brian Sanders’ Chicken Bone Brain and Matthew Neenan’s Somnolence.
