Children’s Program

Ages 3-8 years
No experience required
The goal of the Children’s Program is to introduce the students to dance and ballet through movement, music, games, props, and fun. Dancers learn in an organized group setting while exploring the use of their imagination. Each lesson is a positive experience aimed to instill a sense of self-confidence and self-worth. Students will progress through essential components throughout the year including gross motor skills, spatial awareness, musicality, and body awareness.

MOVEMENT

3-4 years of age
(Students must be 3 years of age by September 1st)
No experience required

Annual tuition:  $692 for 1 lesson per week 

The introduction to ballet-based movement begins at this tender age. We want a child’s first experience with dance to be a positive one. Students work on gross motor skills using various types of music and songs, props, and their imagination. Students enrolled in Movement classes will not perform in the Spring Production but will have an in-house studio demonstration in May.

CREATIVE

4-5 years of age
(Students must be 4 years of age by September 1st)
No experience required

Annual tuition:  $692 for 1 lesson per week 

Continued work on gross motor skills with greater focus on creative thinking is the core of this level. Students will explore working with others as well as spatial awareness. Students enrolled in Creative classes will not perform in the Spring Production but will have an in-house studio demonstration in May.

PRE-BALLET

5-7 years of age
(Students must be 5 years of age by September 1st)
No experience required

Annual tuition$810 for 1 lesson per week 
(adding optional lesson Annual tuition: $1484 for 2 lessons per week) 

Pre-Ballet classes are an exciting introduction to Ballet technique. Students will begin work on fine motor skills and ballet vocabulary. Continued use of the imagination along with balance, body alignment, and spatial awareness are a focus. Students enrolled in Pre-Ballet by 11/1/19 will be eligible to perform in the Spring Production.

PRIMARY BALLET
(2 classes per week required)

6-8 years of age
(Students must be 6 years of age by September 1st)
No experience required
Annual tuition:  $1734 for 2 lessons per week

This level is a bridge to our Fundamental levels. Strength, vocabulary, and classroom etiquette are stressed, as well as flexibility and body alignment. Students enrolled by 11/1/19 will be eligible to perform in the Spring Performance.

The School of Pennsylvania Ballet at the Croft Farm Arts Center in Cherry Hill

October 5th – November 23rd, 2019

The School of Pennsylvania Ballet partners with the Croft Farm Arts Center in Cherry Hill, New Jersey to provide three different ballet classes for beginning dancers. These classes will be led by the outstanding faculty from The School of Pennsylvania Ballet and will be held on Saturday mornings. No audition is required to enroll in these classes, but space in each class is limited.
