Company Experience

August 6th – 10th
Ages Approx. 16 & Above (Levels 6 & Above)
Following our annual summer intensive, the Company Experience offers an additional week of professional ballet instruction for dancers ages approximately 16 and above. This program provides advanced students and young professionals a great way to be seen by Pennsylvania Ballet’s artistic staff. Along with daily workshops, wherein students learn pieces from Pennsylvania Ballet’s repertoire, the week also features classes taught by Artistic Director Angel Corella as well as members of the Pennsylvania Ballet artistic staff. Select students may be chosen and invited to attend the School of Pennsylvania Ballet’s full year program.

AUDITIONS AND ENROLLMENT

Auditions are open to all male and female students (ages approximately 16 & above) for the level suiting their skill, background, and degree of training. Students unable to attend the national audition tour may submit a video audition or arrange for an in-person evaluation by contacting Joanne Smith at jsmith@paballet.org or 215.587.6942. Select students from the summer intensive may be invited to attend the School of Pennsylvania Ballet’s full-year program.

Applicants will receive result notification within two weeks of their audition. Once accepted into the summer intensive, all students must register within four weeks of their admission date, as space is granted on a first-come, first-served basis. When full capacity is reached, remaining students will be placed on a wait list. Please be sure to register and submit your deposit on time in order to ensure your spot in the program.

Current students of the School of Pennsylvania Ballet are not required to audition and will be given priority enrollment over students from the national audition tour. While enrollment in the summer course is not mandatory, we strongly encourage all current students to do so. Registration forms will be emailed mid-January and due back no later than February 17, 2018.  Late registrants will be placed on a waitlist until the completion of the national audition tour and accepted only when and if space is available.

For more information about auditions and enrollment, please contact Pennsylvania Ballet School Director Joanne Smith at jsmith@paballet.org or 215.587.6942.

HOUSING

Pennsylvania Ballet’s summer intensive is unable to provide housing for boys and girls younger than age 12. For students 12 and older, however, we can provide fully supervised housing at Moore College of Art and Design. The first all-women’s arts college, Moore College of Art and Design is centrally located in Logan Square, within walking distance of our studios.

Company Experience housing includes air-conditioned rooms, a full meal plan, and coin-op laundry facilities. As well, a number of weekend activities are offered to complete a fun and exhilarating summer experience. Additional information on summer housing will be provided to students upon admittance into the program.
